On August 27, 2017, Officer Dwayne Simpson of the New Mexico State Police, and a deputy from the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office, stopped a vehicle with three fugitives inside. As Officer Simpson was attempting to search one of the suspects, the suspect pulled a .357 Magnum and shot Officer Simpson directly in the badge on his chest.
Thanks to his ABA® HP02 Level II Armor, Officer Simpson was able to stay in the fight, and both he and the deputy returned fire and eliminated the threat.
Officer Dwayne Simpson was treated at the hospital and has returned to full duty.
We welcome Officer Dwayne Simpson, SAVE #1990, to The Safariland Group SAVES CLUB®.
