On June 19, 2018, the DeKalb County Police Department’s SWAT team was
called out to an incident at an apartment building involving a barricaded
gunman wanted on multiple felony warrants.
After several hours of attempting to peacefully resolve the situation, the
SWAT team deployed chemical agents into the apartment. Approximately one
minute later, the suspect opened the front door and charged the entry team
while firing a handgun.
Staged just outside the front door, the team of four was protected by their
PROTECH® Tactical Body Bunker shield, which was hit by two 115gr 9mm
rounds. Unharmed behind their shield, the team returned fire and ended the
threat.
