On July 22, 2019, Narcotics Agent Clint Landrum of the Copiah County Sheriff’s Department, along with other agents, was searching for a fugitive wanted for capital murder. Agent Landrum moved to the back of the property where the fugitive was last seen in a wooded area. Agent Landrum and other agents began clearing an abandoned mobile home. The agents had cleared about 90% of the mobile home when Agent Landrum began to clear a bathroom/closet area. The fugitive opened fire, and one of the .40 S&W rounds struck Agent Landrum in the back and was stopped by his Safariland® Xtreme® XT2-2 armor. Agent Landrum and other agents returned fire eliminating the threat.
Agent Landrum was treated and released from the hospital but is still recovering from wounds to both legs from ricochet fragments. He hopes to return to full duty soon.
We welcome Narcotics Agent Clint Landrum as SAVE #2064, to The Safariland Group SAVES CLUB®.
