On October 3, 2020, Officer Dillon Eckerfield was on patrol on his police motorcycle when he was struck by another vehicle and ejected from his motorcycle. He impacted the asphalt and slid on his back. His Safariland® Summit® SM02 Level IIIA armor protected his torso during the crash and ensuing slide on the roadway. Officer Eckerfield has returned to full duty.
