On September 16, 2021 Officers from the Wichita Falls Police Department SWAT Team responded to a barricaded suspect callout. While breaching the front door to deploy chemical agents, they were met by gunfire from the suspect. Officer Brett Keith was the shield operator and his PROTECH® 2035 G2 Shield stopped the .38 Special round, which hit just off the viewport. The suspect was fatally wounded in the shootout.
