On July 16, 2019 Officer Brandon Markos of the California Highway Patrol was in full uniform on a marked Patrol Motorcycle with his emergency lights activated running a traffic break. A motorist failed to yield and struck Officer Markos causing him to be ejected onto the roadway. Officer Markos suffered a fractured pelvis, torn rotator cuff, fractured wrist, and extensive road rash. He spent 2 weeks in the hospital and had 2 surgeries. Thanks to his Safariland® SX02 Level IIIA armor, he suffered no internal injuries. After 11 months of physical therapy, Officer Markos has returned to full duty.
We welcome Officer Brandon Markos as SAVE #2131 to The Safariland Group SAVES Club®.
