Flower Mound Police Department Saves Club

On May 26, 2021 Officers from the Flower Mound Police Department responded to a report of a possible suicidal suspect. They were attempting to conduct a welfare check as the caller had reported hearing a gunshot as she fled the residence. The officers approached behind a ballistic shield and were opening the front door to deploy a drone to assess the situation. The suspect was lying in wait and immediately opened fire with an AR-15 rifle. The suspect fired 10+ rounds of .223 and all 3 officers were hit. Sergeant John Styne-Burns was hit on his PROTECH™ Level IV plate with 2 rounds. Sergeant Adam Quintana was hit on his PROTECH™ Delta 4 MC helmet and Officer Greg Hall was hit 2 times on his PROTECH™ Intruder Shield, both impacting the viewport. After an extended standoff, the suspect was taken into custody and faces multiple felony charges. All 3 officers were taken to the hospital and have recovered and returned to full duty.
