On July 16, 2022, Detective Raymond Clutter was working a solo DUI patrol. He stopped a vehicle and as he approached the car, the driver pulled a 9mm handgun and pointed it at Detective Clutter’s face. Detective Clutter began to move out of the line of fire, and the assailant opened fire. A .9mm round went through Detective Clutter’s forearm and hit him in the shoulder area. His Safariland SM01 level IIIA armor stopped the round to his shoulder. Detective Clutter had to undergo physical therapy for the gunshot wound to his forearm and has returned to light duty.
The assailant was later captured and has been charged with multiple felonies.
We welcome Detective Raymond Clutter, SAVE #2156, to The Safariland Group SAVES Club
