On January 14, 2008, Officer Brian Heath was involved in a high-speed head-on vehicle crash. The suspect was a felon in a stolen vehicle fleeing the police and was under the influence of a controlled substance. Officer Heath was in a 2-man car and was in the passenger seat with no airbag. The crash was so severe, that polyester material from his carrier was embedded in his jawbone. Doctors credit his Safariland Summit Level IIIA along with T-15 and K-30 plates with saving his life by reducing the blunt force trauma to his chest. Officer Heath is now serving as a full time Police Officer with the Plainfield Police Department in Illinois.
We welcome Officer Brian Heath as SAVE #2166 to the Safariland Group SAVES Club
