On March 20th, 2024, Correctional Officer K. Flores was responding to an assault by an inmate on another inmate. As he arrived the inmate attacked him with an improvised edged weapon. Correctional Officer Flores was struck in the upper neck area, back and rib cage. His Safariland® Prism® 3.0 armor worn in an M2 Carrier stopped the attack to his torso.
