Blake Cook

Taught by those who’ve done the job — for those still in the fight.

Bio

Blake Cook began his career in service as an infantryman in the storied 82nd Airborne Division of the U.S. Army. In 2012, he deployed to Afghanistan, where he served with distinction and was wounded in combat, earning a Purple Heart. His recovery required nearly two years of intensive rehabilitation; including speech, memory, and physical therapy, testing his resilience and determination every step of the way.

Following his military service, Blake continued his commitment to protecting others by joining the Fayetteville Police Department in North Carolina. His law enforcement career spanned a wide range of high-stakes roles; from serving on the SWAT Emergency Response Team and participating in countless critical missions, to working as a detective investigating gangs, cartels, and illegal firearms trafficking. His performance and dedication earned recognition at the federal level, including being named Detective of the Year by the U.S. District Attorney’s Office.

In 2015, Blake’s training and resolve were tested again when a routine traffic stop turned into a life-or-death struggle. During the encounter, his Safariland Level III holster gave him the crucial seconds he needed to survive and call for backup, a moment that led to him being honored as Safariland SAVE #2245.

Today, Blake serves as CEO and Director of Law Enforcement Operations at Black Flag Solutions, where he leads advanced training for law enforcement officers, tactical teams, and professionals across the country. His teaching blends battlefield-tested experience with real-world law enforcement insight, making him a trusted instructor in high-stress, life-or-death environments. His areas of expertise include close-quarters combat, hostage rescues, and shoot/no-shoot decision-making under pressure.

Beyond the tactical world, Blake channels his creativity and leadership into new ventures. As the founder of Broken Mast Co., a photography and lifestyle brand inspired by the grit of the sea and the freedom of the open coast, he tells stories rooted in resilience and purpose. He also co-leads Relentless One Group, a men’s community centered on faith, brotherhood, and personal growth.

At his core, Blake is a husband and father who treasures time with his wife, Nicole, and their son, Stacy. Whether it’s hunting flooded timber or spending quiet evenings on the coast, his family remains his anchor—and his faith, the compass that continues to guide his journey.
