On September 13, 2014, deputies from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call of a suicidal individual. As deputies arrived on scene, they were confronted by the suspect who immediately opened fire.
Two rounds struck Deputy Jeff Wilson outside of his armor and a third round was stopped by his Second Chance® level II SM01 armor. The deputies returned fire and the suspect was wounded and taken into custody.
Deputy Wilson has recovered from his injuries and is returning to duty.
