Lieutenant Edmund Fisher

Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office - Louisiana Saves Club

On May 31, 2022, Lieutenant Edmund Fisher was outside his patrol vehicle, standing alongside the road, attempting to flag down a 4-wheeler ATV that was refusing to stop. The operator of the 4-wheeler ATV was travelling at approximately 55 mph, and he intentionally struck Lt. Fisher. Lt. Fisher sustained life threatening injuries in the incident. He was rushed to the Level I Trauma Center at the University Medical Center in New Orleans.

Over the next 2 months, Lt. Fisher was kept in the hospital and endured multiple surgeries to repair his leg and pelvic area. Unfortunately, doctors had to amputate Lt. Fisher’s right leg above the knee. After the 2-month hospital stay, Lt. Fisher was released to continue physical therapy at home.

Lt. Fisher and his doctors both state that his Safariland® Level II XT03 armor, worn in an M1 Carrier, saved him from additional critical injuries to his torso. Lt. Fisher anticipates returning to duty once he completes his physical therapy.

We welcome Lieutenant Edmund Fisher as Save #2263 to The Safariland Group Saves Club®.
