Kimber 2K11 Comp: CADRE NEWS

Cory Ross

The 2011-style pistol trend continues (as it has for several years). This time, Kimber is expanding its popular 2K11 line with compensated models.

Kimber introduced the 2K11 in November of 2024, and it has built a solid reputation. The new compensated models build upon the standard 2K11 and add features people have been wanting in the Kimber 2K11 Comp.

FEATURES

Kimber’s new 2K11 Comp series is an evolution on the line rather than just a cosmetic update, shaped by real shooting experience and shooter feedback. Launching in January 2026, the line introduces compensated performance to the reliable 2K11 platform, with an integrated compensator placed ahead of the front sight to help keep the gun flat and controllable.

Shooters can choose between black and stainless finishes in either a full-size 5-inch or a 4.25-inch Pro model, all chambered in 9mm and built around a new carbon-fiber grip module.

The familiar tool-free guide rod, external extractor, and crowned, fluted barrel remain, while improvements such as a smoothed ambi safety, shortened trigger, optional Stan Chen Customs magwell, and TAG Precision steel optic plates show that Kimber is taking feedback. The result is a high-capacity 1911-style pistol designed for serious enthusiasts and competition shooters alike.

Zooming Out

While I haven’t shot the 2K11, I have friends who have. All seem to like it, and honestly, there’s not much to hate here. If anything, an island-style comp might have been nice, but that’s semantics. All in all, if you want to get into the Double Stack 1911 game, check out the 2K11. At $2,499, it’s in line with many other options.
