On May 5, 2016, officers responding to an armed robbery complaint observed a masked person running from the scene. Officers pursued on foot and the suspect fired, striking one officer in the chest with a .45 ACP round. The officers then returned fire, fatally wounding the suspect.
The Officer’s ABA® Xtreme® XT02 Level II armor stopped the round to the chest and he was treated and released from the hospital.
