Jacob Grey Hex Pro: CADRE NEWS

Cory Ross

Jacob Grey is a newcomer in the industry, but they are bringing some heat. Central to Jacob Grey are double-stack 1911-style handguns. Each one is carefully machined to exacting standards.

Beyond the exceptional machining quality, each Jacob Grey firearm is hand-built one by one, inspected, and tested to produce an elevated level of craftsmanship. And, I think they’ve accomplished just that. The newest model is the Hex Pro, and it shows what world-class machining can get you.

SPECS

The Hex Pro is an upgrade from earlier models like the standard Hex and Nox 9. It learns from those versions and offers a pistol built to improve performance, durability, and shootability—while maintaining the brand’s clean, intentional design language.

FEATURES

The Hex Pro features a fully CNC-machined, pre-hardened 4140 billet steel frame finished in Black DLC. It stands out from aluminum-framed competitors with a tighter slide-to-frame fit, greater durability, and better long-term wear resistance.

The new slide and barrel design includes a 4.6-inch slide and barrel, paired with a thoughtfully designed, chunk-ported barrel that reduces muzzle rise without looking overly aggressive. The grip module is CNC-machined from 7075 aircraft-grade aluminum and hard-coat anodized, now matching the Nox 9 ergonomics for a contoured, natural fit across different hand sizes.

Inside, Armored Billet steel internal and external components, a 2.5 lbs. Controlled Radius Trigger with over-travel adjustment, an optic-ready RMR slide, and a patented ejector design demonstrate that this is precision-built with purpose, not just for show.

ZOOMING OUT

The Hex Pro is a serious piece of machining. And at just shy of $5,000, it should be. It seems that Jacob Grey has gone the extra mile to ensure every component is bombproof, while maintaining a very modern machining aesthetic. The Hex Pro makes its debut at SHOT Show 2026.
