Officer Lauren Robinson

Superior Police Department - Wisconsin Saves Club

On December 7, 2025, Officer Lauren Robinson initiated a traffic stop on an individual involved in a physical domestic dispute. The suspect intentionally maneuvered his vehicle, a windowless cargo van, to keep the driver’s side away from Officer Robinson, concealing his actions, and then ambushed her. He exited the van and immediately opened fire while Officer Robinson was still inside her patrol vehicle.

The assailant was armed with a 7.62x39mm AK-47 rifle. He fired multiple rounds into Officer Robinson’s vehicle and continued shooting as she exited, returned fire, and moved to gain distance. One of the rounds was stopped by her Safariland® SX02 IIIA armor and IMPAC™ HT plate worn in an M2 carrier. Officer Robinson was also struck in the hand and sustained fragmentation injuries from rounds impacting the vehicle.

After fleeing, the suspect crashed into a closed school. A barricaded-suspect standoff followed and lasted several hours before the assailant ultimately surrendered.

Officer Robinson is recovering from the injury to her hand and hopes to return to full duty soon.

We welcome Officer Lauren Robinson as Save #2276 to The Safariland Group Saves Club®.
