Trijicon SRO Green Dot: CADRE NEWS

Cory Ross

The Trijicon SRO has been an immensely popular optic since its debut in mid-2019. It offered a larger window and a top-mounted battery compartment—both considered improvements over the RMR.

The SRO has really shone in competition-style shooting, where the large window pays dividends. However, until now, the SRO has only been available in red. This is fine for many people, but those who prefer green have had to wait until now. Trijicon has released the SRO with a green dot.

FEATURES

Trijicon expands its SRO lineup with a new 2.5 MOA Green Dot variant, adding an option designed to enhance visibility and speed for competitive and target shooters. Built around the SRO’s signature large field of view, the optic delivers a clear, crisp aiming point that is easy to acquire and track through recoil.

The green dot takes advantage of the human eye’s sensitivity to green wavelengths, appearing brighter in daylight while maintaining visibility in challenging conditions such as fog, haze, or complex backgrounds, and helping reduce eye strain during extended use. The optic features intuitive controls, including manual and automatic LED brightness modes, as well as straightforward windage and elevation adjustments.

It shares the same footprint as the RMR, allowing compatibility with many red-dot-ready pistols, and uses a top-loading CR2032 battery for easy replacement. Housed in durable 7075-T6 forged aluminum, the SRO is built to handle hard use without sacrificing performance.

ZOOMING OUT

More options are always a good thing. Given the popularity of RDS on pistols, it makes sense for Trijicon to offer additional dot color options—especially since other manufacturers have been doing so for many years.
