On March 10, 2026, Corporal David Munir was operating his patrol motorcycle while conducting traffic enforcement. While attempting to stop a speeding vehicle, his motorcycle developed a violent high-speed wobble. Cpl. Munir was unable to control the motorcycle, crossed the center median, and left the roadway. He was ejected from the motorcycle and rolled 74 feet.
Cpl. Munir was flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore for treatment. A full-body scan revealed that he had suffered no major injuries. He sustained bruising to his body, a bruised lung, and bruised ribs. Doctors credited his safety gear, including his DOT-approved helmet, motorcycle boots, and Safariland® SX02 Level II armor worn in a Bothell carrier.
