On December 20, 2011, while conducting a routine traffic stop, Officer Travis Griffin, Aiken, S.C., was shot in the chest. Fortunately, his NIJ-06 approved Second Chance® SummitTM SM01 II vest stopped the round. Officer Griffin was treated and released within a few hours.
This is the last confirmed Save for 2011. Safariland® Saves Club® is honored to have helped save the lives of 27 officers in 2011 for a total of 1787 officers saved since the inception of the program.
