Officer James Pierce was reponding to a silent alarm at a local food supply warehouse when he was knocked down by a “blunt instrument”. While on the ground, the officer was then assaulted with a large hunting-type knife. No injuries other than a minor skull contusion were sustained due to his Second Chance® vest protecting his torso area.
