Officer Bradt was called to a “man with knife”. After arriving, a struggle with the subject ensued. Bradt was rendered unconscious with a severe neck wound. While doctors worked on Bradt, they discovered several holes in his shirt made my the subject’s knife, one of which was directly over the heart area. The doctor’s noted that had Bradt not been wearing his Second Chance® vest, this blow would have been fatal.
