Sgt. John Mariano was involved in breaking up a fight with disorderly subjects on an early Saturday morning in July. After engaging in a scuffle, police were able to separate the subjects and break up the fight. Upon returning to the police station, Mariano noticed his jacket and vest had been severely slashed right above his right kidney. His Second Chance® vest is responsible for preventing major injury to Mariano.
