Officer Dunn’s son was too young on February 28, 1979 to realize that it was a vest that saved his dad’s life at work. While out on patrol, Dunn was involved in a head-on collision at 60 MPH. He was wearing his Second Chance® Model Y vest at the time and according to a letter from his attending doctor at Oak and Main Medical Center, “I feel that the protective vest he (Dunn) was wearing prevented serious injuries or even death.”
