On October 6th, 1979, Deputy Sheriff Straw was responding to a radio call of a serious accident, injuries unknown. As he was turning onto a dirt road, Straw failed to negotiate a 90 degree turn and left the highway, rolling twice and totaling his vehicle. Straw suffered a separated shoulder, punctured lung and a broken cheekbone. Straw had received his Second Chance® vest 9 days prior to the accident and his doctor agrees that if he had not been wearing his vest that day, his chest would have been crushed and the injuries may have been fatal.
We welcome Sheriff Robert Straw, SAVE #168, to The Safariland Group SAVES CLUB®.
