Officer Paquin went around the back of a house while his partner went to the front door of the residence to obtain a statement from the complainant. While this was being done, three shots barked from the backyard. Both men raced around back to find Officer Paquin hunched over on the ground. Paquin said that as he came around back he noticed something in the bushes. As he approached, he was shot in the lower left side of the chest. Paquin then showed the men the (Second Chance®) vest he was wearing. A .38 bullet was stopped in the front panel.
