While investigating an attempted auto burglary, Officer Bland was attacked by the suspect. The officer was in a “bear hug” position as his assailant beat on his back. Unbeknownst to Bland, the assailant’s fist contained a Craftsman 4″ locking blade hunting knife. Even after being wounded, Officer Bland shot the assailant as he was escaping. The suspect was apprehended four hours later with Bland’s bullet in his leg. According to Marianna’s Director of Public Safety, “We attribute Second Chance® Body Armor with saving Bland’s life, and we are very glad our officers are protected by your products.”
