On August 31, 1981, just a stoke before midnight, Officer Silva was on patrol when a car backed out of a driveway, directly into the path of his cruiser. Silva reacted and swerved to miss the car, unfortunately a Jaguar was heading west and as Silva slid into his lane, there was a collision. Both cars were totaled as a result. Both Silva and the other driver were transported to the hospital by ambulance. Although he received numerous injuries, there was not even a bruise on his ribs or chest. Silva attributes his Second Chance® Model Y vest with saving his life and allowing him to recover fully in a short time.
We welcome Officer Michael Silva, SAVE #244, to The Safariland Group SAVES CLUB®.
