Two days before Christmas of “81, Mike’s concealed body armor gave him “the greatest Christmas present anyone could ask for.” It gave him a “second chance”. Mike and his partner responded to an armed robbery in progress at a local grocery store. After the required amenities, shots were exchanged whereby the suspect was hit three times but not before he was able to crank off a .38 round into Chappell’s chest covered by his Second Chance® vest.
