Deputy Smith responded to a prowler call at a break-in of a hardware store. Realizing the suspect was still in the area, Smith began his search. Under a rack of pipes in the back of the store, Smith found his prowler. At the attempt to handcuff his suspect of 225 pounds in a 6’4″ frame, a scuffle broke out. Smith sustained an eye injury and badly torn uniform shirt and armored vest carrier. This was a result of five knives later found concealed on the suspect. The only thing that stood between the knife and Smith’s chest was his Second Chance® armor.
We welcome Deputy Ronald Smith, SAVE #374, to The Safariland Group SAVES CLUB®.
