Officer Evans was dispatched to a fire and on arrival was told an older gentleman was still in the blazing house. With the help of another person, Evans was able to find the 78-year-old man and began to exit the house. As they got outside, with their back to the fire, there was an explosion. Evans” Second Chance® Model Y2A armor absorbed the blast. His attending physician writes, “vest spared him from significant thermal and contussive injury to the thorax.”
