Officer Micael Brinegar and Anna Herman were dispatched to an apartment complex in response to an alleged assault on a juvenile by an adult. After interviewing the juvenile the two officers went to the alleged assailant’s apartment. They were met at the door by a male wielding a 10″ butcher knife. The blade came down on Brinegar, deflecting off his badge and onto his concealed Second Chance® Model Y armor. The 10-year old armor absorbed the thrust giving Brinegar the opportunity to subdue his attacker, along with his partner, cuffing him and placing him under arrest.
