Officer Hyatt responded to a “shots fired” call at a local apartment building. Hyatt called for back up and proceeded to clear the area of by-standers. On arrival of back up, Hyatt entered the apartment observing a male lying face-up on a bed. When the officers came within 10-feet of the male, the man jumped up and began firing his S&W 6″ .357. Hyatt was struck in the back panel of his Second Chance® armor just behind his heart. Hyatt crawled to safety taking a support position.
We welcome Officer Ken Hyatt, SAVE #482, to The Safariland Group SAVES CLUB®.
