Officer Terry Nelson was making one last drive-through of his patrol area at the end of his midnight shift. Fog had rolled in and visibility was less than twenty feet in front of his unit. As he entered an intersection he was hit broadside by another vehicle without its lights on. The driver’s side of his car was crunched, throwing Nelson around with his seatbelt pulling him back into the twisted metal. EMS technician Roger Miller treated Nelson for kidney, lung and chest injuries stating that Nelson would have sustained “fatal injuries” had it not been for the Second Chance® protective vest he was wearing at the time of impact.
We welcome Officer Terry Nelson, SAVE #494, to The Safariland Group SAVES CLUB®.
