Officer Browning was part of an entry team selected to dislodge a barricaded gunman after a 55-hour seige. Browning’s size made him the “first man in” in this situation. He was standing in front of the wooden entry door when a 12ga slug ripped through the door striking Browning in the right rib cage area. The slug glanced off Browning’s Model 2A Second Chance® armor leaving a nasty welt and bruise on his torso. Two other officers were wounded in the following brief shooting spree before the gunman was subdued, arrested and removed from the residence.
