Officer Conte was struck by a vehicle while directing pedestrian traffic at an intersection. Had it not been for the Second Chance® Monarch II Conte was wearing, she would have received “considerable more damage to the torso area from the force of impact”, states Chief Schneller. Her leg and head injuries kept her off duty for almost twelve months.
