Officer Mowry was involved in a car chase that ended when the suspect collided with another Dept. of Public Safety vehicle that had come to the scene for back-up. The officer driving the other vehicle got out after the collision and attempted to take the suspect into custody. He then discharged a single shot from his weapon striking the suspect in the head. The bullet exited the suspect’s head and hit Officer Mowry on the left breast area of his chest. Mowry was hit with a single bullet from a .40 cal handgun from a distance of approximately five feet. He would have sustained heart and lung injuries had he not been wearing his Second Chance® Armor.
We welcome Officer Dave Mowry, SAVE #894, to The Safariland Group SAVES CLUB®.
