Officers had set up a license checkpoint with reflective signs, traffic vests and blue lights activated. A suspect driving a “96 Chevy Caprice failed to stop and hit Vesely with his driver side mirror which spun him around into a large trailer that had just cleared the checkpoint.Vesely suffered a broken rib, but according to his physician, he was saved from much more serious injury because he was wearing his Second Chance® armor.
