Officer Ford was shot in the upper torso area during the execution of a search warrant seeking illegal drugs and firearms. Officer Ford was on the entry team and carried a ballistic shield. As the entry team entered the house, an assailant in a bedroom shot Ford with a .45 caliber pistol. The bullet was stopped by Officer Ford’s tactical vest. His attending physician stated that had it not been for the vest, the gunshot injuries would have been fatal, however, Officer Ford was released from the hospital two hours later.
We welcome Officer John Ford, SAVE #1550, to The Safariland Group SAVES CLUB®.
