The Sig Sauer Romeo series has revolutionized the red dot and reflex sight concepts, making them practical for everyday applications. Today, optics-ready handguns are now the standard rather than the exception.
Sig’s Solution to Mounting Challenges
Reflex sights are easy to mount, as long as the optic footprint matches that of your handgun. One major drawback is the mounting arrangement is not the most secure. The tolerances between the footprint and the optic can vary and the set screws that hold it in place can back out, resulting in a shaking optic that can’t be expected to hold zero shot to shot.
Sig’s solution is the new Romeo-X Sig-LOC or Sig Leverage Optimized Connection.
Sig Romeo-X Sig-LOC
Inspired by the military issue Romeo M17, the Sig Romeo-X Sig-LOC is an enclosed emitter reflex sight with five points of contact to ensure a rigid hold that won’t move under hard impacts and the constant jog of recoil.
These points include the usual footprint lugs at the bottom of the optic as well as a lug that laterally locks into the slide at the front of the optic. In addition, the Sig-LOC’s installation screws are installed from the bottom of the slide, rather than the top, ensuring that torque keeps the optic in place.
Construction and Features
The Sig-LOC features an all-aluminum construction and a sealed and Argon-purged optical window that is waterproof and fogproof. It also includes Sig’s motion activation feature, which allows for up to 15,000 hours of battery life.
The Romeo X Sig-LOC is currently compatible with the new Sig P365 Fuse pistol and comes with a red circle dot reticle. Future plans for continued integration into the base P365 and P320 platforms are ongoing as are future reticle options including a 3 MOA red dot and a 6 MOA red dot.
These first models are now shipping and have an MSRP of $499.
