Bio

Paul Costa brings over 19 years of law enforcement experience and currently serves as a Special Operations Canine Handler. His career has spanned tactical patrol, firearms and tactics instruction, and SWAT operations, with deep expertise in high-risk woodland searches and fugitive apprehension.

As a firearms and tactics instructor for more than a decade, Paul holds numerous instructor certifications across disciplines including Close Quarters Battle (CQB), firearms, combatives, small unit tactics, night vision operations, and SWAT. His training is rooted in fundamental principles and real-world application.

Paul is a deputized U.S. Marshal Task Force Officer (TFO), providing tactical support to federal, state, county, and local SWAT teams within the Tri-State area. His responsibilities include tactical K9 deployment in support of high-risk warrant service, barricaded subjects, hostage rescue, and fugitive operations—many of which involve open terrain and woodland environments. He has participated in thousands of high-risk operations nationwide.

Paul is the first Walther Arms Pro Staff Instructor, delivering department-level training and representing Walther’s commitment to quality law enforcement education.

He is currently ranked Master Class in USPSA Carry Optics and brings a performance-driven approach to both tactical and competitive shooting. His instruction is known for its clarity, accountability, and efficiency—developing disciplined tacticians and marksmen prepared for real-world threats.

Paul teaches nationwide through Broken Arrow Defense LLC and regularly collaborates with leading industry partners. His dedication to the profession is matched only by his belief in staying a lifelong student. He trains to prepare good Americans and law enforcement officers to defend themselves and others with purpose and skill.
