LEG SHROUD TYPES
Leg shrouds are attachment systems used to carry a firearm in a drop-leg tactical holster and to provide additional room for storing gear and accessories such as extra magazines. Safariland has three types of leg shrouds, the double strap, the single strap, and the lightweight strap, which allow for versatility in the setup. Leg shroud platforms are attached by nylon and elastic straps to secure the rig when running or in motion. D-ring design connectors swivel for comfort when the user is seated. Whether you choose to run a single or a double leg shroud comes down to body type, uniform code requirements, and personal preference for the task at hand.
double strap leg shrouds
The double leg shroud places the holster in the central part of your thigh, and is preferred by users who are taller in stature. The double is also a better choice when wearing heavy kit, and for dropping the holster below a plate carrier. Having both single and double leg shroud options offers flexibility, and you may decide to use both the single and the double, for different applications and depending on where you want to place the holster.

single strap leg shrouds
Single Strap Leg Shrouds are lower profile leg shrouds that allows the user to wear the holster higher on the hip, and for more stability—just below where a low ride UBL would typically place the holster. Users who are shorter in stature may prefer the single shroud, and it can make getting in and out of vehicles easier.
The Model 6004-10 Single Strap Leg Shroud is often designed primarily for EDW units the preferred standard choice over the double strap leg shroud, especially when used with the DFA or UFA rig setups. It’s also used as an offside rig for accessories, which can be mounted on both sides of the holster, or the mount can be used to attach three accessories. In addition, the single strap leg shroud allows the attachment of EDW units. The adjustable vertical leg strap attaches to the belt, and makes it easy to adjust ride height.

The Drop Flex Adapter replaces the standard vertical leg strap and raises the height of the system on the thigh for increased stability, and to keep the rig from sliding on the belt. The thigh plate has mounting holes for attachment of two Safariland tactical accessories.
The Model 6004UFA-SP Single Strap Leg Shroud with Universal Flex Adapter (UFA) allows the user to wear a thigh rig below the hip without shifting weight farther down the leg. The hole pattern on the UFA makes it possible to connect various mounts, including the paddle, ELS fork, QLS fork for or 744BL Belt Clip. This thigh rig can be quickly and easily removed, and the single strap high plate provides for a low profile carry.
