Police Officer and Competitive Shooting Champion Keith Garcia
Becomes Newest Member of Team Safariland

Multi-Gun national champion credits practice, perseverance and Safariland
gear for impressive roster of competition wins

ONTARIO, California – The Safariland Group (“Safariland”), a leading global provider of safety and survivability products designed for the public safety, military, professional and outdoor markets, announced today that police officer and champion competitive shooter Keith Garcia has joined the Safariland Shooting Team. Garcia has been a California police officer for 20 years and a competitive shooter for 15 years. He is a six-time USPSA Law Enforcement Multi-Gun National Champion and a two-time USPSA Multi-Gun National Champion.
“We’re excited to have Keith join Team Safariland because he’s a dedicated professional who can teach others to be successful. He brings an incredible wealth of experience and knowledge to the game,” said Scott Carnahan, Safariland’s Team Captain and VP/General Manager at Safariland.
In 2003 Garcia shot at his first National Championship. In 2008 he captured second place at the Nationals and, in 2013, he won the 3-Gun National Championship and $50,000 prize, competing against 50 of the top three-gunners in the country. He credits his phenomenal success to perseverance and practice.
“You have to do something every day to get better, or you’re not going to maintain your skills,” explained Garcia. “Joining the Safariland Shooting Team was a natural next step; I’m excited for the opportunity. Most of the gear – the belt and holsters, and shotgun shell holders – all that is Safariland gear. I trust the brand because I’ve been using Safariland police gear for my whole career,” he added.

Started in 1985, Team Safariland has become an integral part of the company’s product development process. Comprised of dedicated and professional world class competitive and LE-trained shooters, Team Safariland members regularly field test materials and products to help the company design shooting gear that meets and exceeds customer expectations.

“With his shooting competition, law enforcement, SWAT and instructing experience, Garcia is a great addition to Team Safariland, and we look forward to his contributions as we develop new Safariland products,” noted Carnahan.

See Keith Garcia at SHOT Show in the Safariland booth #12762, January 22-24, in Las Vegas, along with the rest of Team Safariland.
