Protech Tactical Previews Latest Ballistic Helmets at SHOT Show
Lighter weight tactical helmets designed for frontline and Special Forces teams
JACKSONVILLE, Florida – Protech® Tactical announced today that it is previewing the Delta™ X and Delta™ 5 helmets to expand its Delta line of tactical helmets – synonymous with ergonomic comfort, outstanding ballistic performance and field-tested results – during SHOT (Shooting, Hunting, Outdoor Trade) Show 2016 at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas, January 19 – 22.
• Delta X: Weighing less than 2 lbs. in a full coverage cut, the Delta X is the lightest ballistic helmet yet in the Delta line of helmets. Its boltless aramid mold reduces weight by approximately 30% as compared to traditional ACH (advanced combat helmet) style helmets. The helmet’s ergonomic comfort and superb ballistic performance during extensive missions make it ideal for frontline and Special Forces teams. Comprised of polyethylene and aramid composite, the Delta X can withstand assault from a wide spectrum of small fragments and handgun bullets to provide NIJ level IIIA tested (V50>2400 f/s for 17 gr.) protection.
• Delta 5: A sister of the Delta X, the Delta 5 is 23 percent lighter than traditional ACH style helmets. Also great for frontline and Special Forces teams, the Delta 5 is comprised of the same composite materials and provides an identical level of ballistic protection as the Delta X with significant weight reduction allowing for endurance from minimized load-carrying fatigue.
“These groundbreaking helmets will set the industry standard for Special Forces and combat ballistic helmets,” said Dan McNeil, Director, Protech Tactical. “From the boltless helmet mold to the weight reduction in both helmets, our advanced technology and passion for protection is what keeps Protech Tactical ahead of the pack.”
Releasing in February, the Delta X will be available in one-size-fits-all and the Delta 5 will be available in small to extra-large with a jumbo size available by special order. Both will offer full-, mid- or high-cuts and can be customized with all Protech Tactical accessories and retention and suspension systems. Colors include coyote brown, foliage green and textured black.
