Safariland Named Title Sponsor of First Safariland Expedition Multi-Gun Match June 22-25 in Boulder City, Nevada
New event style features multiple options and new course stages; 250 already registered
ONTARIO, California – Safariland® announced today its role as Title Sponsor at the first annual Safariland Expedition Multi-Gun match, a four-day competition, June 22-25, at the Pro Gun Club in Boulder City, Nev. With this competition, Seasoned Match Director Pete Rensing introduces a new format, with two guns per stage, rifle shots under 100-yards, minimal shotgun loading, faster stages and faster scoring, and more. This all adds up to more fun and engagement for competitors at the event.
“We’ve worked with Pete for a number of years and when this opportunity arose, we knew it was right for us,” said Safariland Team Captain Scott Carnahan, who is also vice president of Safariland’s equipment category. “We’re going to see some fun changes with this event; it’s truly a shooter’s choice match with a fast and furious pace to keep things moving. Even the prize distribution is going to be different, spread over three days.” Added Carnahan, “With competitive shooting products a key part of our business, and Pete’s expertise in running the event, we look forward to being a part of this match for years to come.”
The Safariland Expedition is different than other competitions, giving shooters the opportunity to shoot the same match in two divisions at the same time, and choose which guns they want to shoot at each stage. The event structure allows competitors to shoot five stages in under four hours. The course stages were designed by Rensing, a 30-year shooting veteran, who has been shooting USPSA competitive events for the last seven.
“This match is for everyone,” said Rensing. “We have several divisions for shooters to choose from to come play and have fun. The ability to shoot the same match in two divisions does not happen at too many matches, and definitely not the same match three times. The support we are getting from Safariland is awesome; I am excited to see how big we can make this event in the next couple years.”
The match has a total of 15 stages, five stages per day/night. Competitors will be given the option to shoot stages during the day, and then shoot the same stages at night. Multiple divisions can be shot over the course of the four days.
The following divisions are included in the match:
· Tactical
· Limited
· Heavy
· Open
· PCC (shoot the entire match with one PCC gun)
· Two-Gun (shoot the entire match with rifle/pistol)
· 2X4 (shooters use rifle, pistol, shot gun or PCC, and must use two guns per stage, shooters choice; all open rules)
· Dark (same stages mentioned above, but competitors will compete at night)
Already more than 250 competitors have signed up for this exciting event. For information about the Safariland Expedition visit www.safarilandexpedition.com, and for additional details on the stages, fees, and deadlines to register click on the Registration tab to be taken to the Practiscore site.
