On June 11, 2020 officers in California were involved in a manhunt for a wanted felon who had killed one man and shot a deputy in the face in an ambush. During the manhunt, multiple shootouts occurred and one officer was shot in the chest.
His Safariland® Model BR01 IIIA armor stopped the round and he was treated and released. The assailant was fatally wounded in the last shootout.
