On October 12, 2023, Members of the Drug Task Force were executing a search warrant at a single-family home. The suspect opened fire with a .223 as the officers were clearing the house. 5 Members of the task force were hit with 3 hit on their armor – One on his Safariland® Protech® 2113 MC plate, the second was hit on his Safariland® SX 02 Level II and the third on his Hardwire® Level IIIA armor. The suspect was taken into custody after a standoff. All the officers were treated and released from the hospital.
