On November 19, 2019, a trooper was working the scene of an accident, wearing a traffic safety vest over his uniform and walking with traffic along the side of the highway. A motorist driving a Chevrolet Astro Van at 31 miles per hour, as determined by the airbag module, struck the Trooper from behind. The initial impact took the trooper’s legs out from under him, his body dented the front of the van and his head hit the “A” pillar and lower right corner of the windshield.

The trooper was flown by MedFlight Helicopter to the hospital. The trooper was severely injured, and spent four weeks in the hospital. His Safariland® Summit™ SM02 Level IIIA armor was credited with greatly reducing the amount of injury to this torso.

After months of physical rehabilitation, the trooper has returned to full duty.

We welcome the trooper as SAVE #2083, to The Safariland Group SAVES CLUB®.
