On June 12, 2020 Deputy Elijah Cannon was in a training class conducting traffic stop exercises. During the training, a live round was discharged and Deputy Cannon was shot in the chest with a .40 S&W 180 grain Remington Golden Saber round.
Deputy Cannon’s Safariland® Monarch® MR01 Level II armor stopped the round. Deputy Cannon was treated and released and has returned to full duty.
