On October 30, 2019, Correctional Officers Doug Hidalgo and Keith Clements of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation were in a transport van traveling at 65 mph on the freeway when it was in a collision with a tractor-trailer.
The CDCR transportation van was nearly unrecognizable and both Correctional Officers were injured. Both credit their Safariland® MS-3A30S-MT01 armor with reducing the severity of their injuries. Officer Hidalgo is back on full duty and Officer Clements is still out pending another surgery.
